Tarlac State University joined the nation in celebrating ASEAN Month 2026 during the simultaneous flag-raising ceremonies at its three campuses today (August 25), carrying this year’s theme, “Setting Sail for ASEAN 2026: Navigating Our Future, Together.”
In line with the celebration, the Office of International Affairs and Linkages, led by its director Dr. Ninez B. Tulo, organized the Best ASEAN Male and Female Attire contest, which brought together students, teaching personnel, and non-teaching employees across the campuses. Winners received ₱2,000, while consolation prizes of ₱500 and ₱200 were also awarded.
Anchoring his message on this week's value focus of discipline and order, University President Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza likened ASEAN and TSU to a ship whose journey depends on collective effort.
“A ship does not move by the strength of one sailor alone; it moves because many hands pull the ropes, read the winds, and steer toward a shared horizon. That is ASEAN...That is TSU.”
He further underscored the importance of discipline and order in sustaining the University's journey forward.
“No ship survives the open sea on enthusiasm alone; it survives because of discipline and order. The small daily acts are the quiet strength of a university. Disiplina hindi lamang sa salita, kundi pati sa gawa,” Pres. Mendoza added.
