Tarlac State University was among the recognized higher education institutions (HEIs) in the region by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO III) during the PARANGAL Central Luzon 2026 held on September 14, 2026, at Hotel Seoul, Clark, Pampanga.
The Premier Awarding and Recognition of Academic Networks, Global Achievements, and Linkages (PARANGAL) Central Luzon is an awards ceremony that recognizes HEIs in Region III for their inclusion in internationally recognized university rankings.
TSU received recognition for its notable performance at the 2026 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) and the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Rankings.
University President Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza and Office of International Affairs and Linkages Director Dr. Ninez B. Tulo received the award on behalf of the university.
The institution improved its standing on both internationally recognized university ranking systems.
The university ranked 191st globally at the 2026 WURI, from its 256th place in 2025, securing notable rankings in four WURI innovation categories: 36th for Interdisciplinary, Convergent, and Integrated Research, 56th for Student Support and Engagement, 64th for Curricular Innovation for Future-Readiness, and 79th for Inclusive Social Innovation for the Underserved.
TSU also improved its standing in the 2026 THE Sustainability Impact Ratings, which evaluated 1,646 institutions worldwide, landing in the 1001-1500 bracket, advancing from its 1501+ ranking the previous year.
The notable SDG-related rankings included: 401-600 bracket for SDG 1: No Poverty; 601-800 bracket for SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions; and 801-1000 for SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
PARANGAL Central Luzon 2026 was held during the TANGLAW (Together Achieving National and Global Legacies for ASEAN-ready and World-Class) Central Luzon 2026, an event held in observance of ASEAN Month and CHED's continuing efforts to promote higher education internationalization, with the theme: "Navigating the ASEAN Future, Together".
